Institution for Savings Donates $10,000 to Local Organizations as Part of Rowley Branch Opening

Rowley, MA - The Institution for Savings recently donated more than $10,000 to five area non-profit organizations in conjunction with the opening of its full-service banking office in Rowley.

As part of its grand opening promotion, the bank announced that it would donate $50 to one of five local organizations for each new account opened in its Rowley office in the opening days. As a result, the bank presented checks earlier this week totaling $10,100 to representatives of those organizations, which included the Rowley Council on Aging, the Rowley Food Bank, the Rowley Public Education Fund, the Triton Education Foundation, and the YMCA of the North Shore.

"We think that this donation promotion is a perfect way to demonstrate our strong belief that being a part of Rowley means more to us than just providing a place to bank," said Institution for Savings Executive Vice President Michael J. Jones, also the president of the bank's Ipswich Charitable Foundation, in making the presentations. "Since 1820, our vision has been to positively affect the lives of every person, business, and organization we serve, and we look forward to doing that right here in Rowley as well."

Those on hand to accept donations for their organizations included Mary Ellen Mighill from the Council on Aging, Gerry Kiley from the Rowley Food Bank, Kate Scalley from the Rowley Public Education Fund, Beth DiMento and Nancy Taylor from the Triton Education Foundation, and Jack Meany of the YMCA of the North Shore.
